Recording With QuickTime
Anyone with an Apple computer (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, iMac Pro, Mac Pro, Mac mini) can record video with QuickTime Player for free. Here is the process:
Webcam Recording
- Open QuickTime Player (generally in the "Applications" folder).
- In QuickTime Player, click on "File" and then "New Movie Recording."
- To the right of the Record icon, check the downward facing arrow and check that a suitable microphone icon is selected.
- Click on "Record."
- Present your material.
- When done, click on "Stop."
- Save your recording.

Screen Recording
- Open QuickTime Player (generally in the "Applications" folder).
- In QuickTime Player, click on "File" and then "New Screen Recording."
- Click on "Record."
- Present your material.
- When done, click on "Stop."
- Save your recording.

Editing in QuickTime
- Open the file with QuickTime Player.
- Move the scrubber, and take exact note of the timecodes where the class starts and ends.
- Click on “Edit” and choose “Trim.”
- Move the handles of the video to the timecodes you have noted and then click on “Trim.”
- Click on “File” and choose “Save.”
- Type in the name of the recording in the “Export As” field and click on “Save.”
