We work with DePaul University students, alumni, faculty, and staff to plan, to draft, to revise, or to polish their work.
The Writing Center promotes an awareness of writing processes and facilitates a space to generate and share knowledge.
Peer Writing Tutors can collaborate on any writing-based project. Tutors are trained to work with a diverse range of genres brought by a diverse range of writers.
Our campus locations offer Face-to-Face and Conversation Partner appointments. Written Feedback and Online Realtime appointments offer remote access to our services.
Writing Center Tutors are graduate and undergraduate students and professional staff members, from a variety of disciplines and with many areas of expertise. All Writing Center Tutors approach their work with you as fellow writers.
Writing Center Tutors are here to help get started on your project. We can help you better understand an assignment, or work together to develop a topic, thesis, or ideas.
If you already have a draft of your project, we can collaborate with you to identify what's effective in your draft and what revisions might strengthen it. We can clarify issues in writing such as summarizing, paraphrasing, and citing sources.
We work with writers on grammar and style and ways to revise your work to make your writing clearer. Rather than proofread text, our tutors can help you identify patterns of error and learn to avoid those errors in revisions & future writing.
We have tutors who can work with you on writing in languages other than English depending on the expertise of our current staff. Call or email the Writing Center for more information.
