Midterm review. Please review the notes on the
2-Independent Sample
problem for next class.
- Quiz #2 will be on Mon, 10/6. It will be on
Sampling Distribution Theory & Confidence Intervals and
Hypothesis Testing. Review
problem set #1 for practice (see COL for
the solutions) on sampling distributions and confidence intervals.
For
hypothesis testing practice, work
set #1 and
set #2 and
set #3.
- The
Hypothesis Testing and
Paired & Independent Samples
lecture notes
will be discussed after Problem Set#1 on 9/29.
- Problem
set #1 is now available.
It will be discussed
at the start of the 9/29 class.
- Review these
lecture notes
in preparation for the problem set. For additional
sampling distribution practice, work
set #1 and
set #2 problems.
For additional CI practice, work
these
problems. For additional
sample size determination practice, work
this problem.
- A SAS bootcamp is tentatively scheduled for
Fri, 9/26 @ 12:00noon-1:00pm (Location: Lewis 1309)
and another on Tue, 9/30 @ 6:00pm-7:00pm (Location: Lewis 1309).
This
bootcamp is
intended for students who are new to SAS and programming. A special
version will be done for DL students
(and COL students) which will be viewable
on-line and should be available Wed, 10/1.
- Note: See the updated
Sampling Distribution Theory & Confidence Intervals notes.
The update is that mentioned in class on 9/22. (i.e. update posted 9/23 @ 7:00pm)
- Reminder: Quiz #2 will be week 4 (i.e. 10/6). See the
schedule.
- Quiz #1 will be on Mon, 9/22.
It will be on the
Normal distribution (i.e. from the
material that
you should have reviewed for the 9/15 class). For additional
practice
work these normal problems. You may
use either the Normal table in Ott or the one posted below. The
quiz will not contain Student t problems but you should
review the material anyway.
- The
Sampling Distribution Theory & Confidence Intervals and the
Hypothesis Testing lecture notes
will be discussed after Quiz #1.
- See the SAS@Home link if you have
been issued a SAS license.
All
DL students who
requested a license have been issued one.
If you are an in-class student, check
here to see if you have been issued
a license.
- Please read and review these notes
prior to our class on Monday, 9/15. This material will
be a review for any student who has done CSC323 at DePaul CTI
and should be familiar to any student who has done an
introductory statistics class. I will briefly
cover some of this material during the first lecture but will
assume that you are somewhat familiar with
this material and are able to work the example problems.
