Sequence of Events

What happens next?

All students interested in taking their assessments online should familiarize themselves with the technical requirements as soon as possible by visiting the Technical Information page.

The following lists the steps that all newly admitted students will follow to complete their assessments online, and register for courses during their respective orientation program:

  1. Receive orientation packet from the Office of Academic Enhancement.  This packet includes your orientation registration form (Premiere DePaul for freshmen, and Transfer Transition for Transfers).
  2. Reply to the Office of Academic Enhancement with a selection of orientation programs by May 31, 2002.
  3. Receive a confirmation from the Office of Academic Enhancement of your chosen orientation program in early June.
  4. Receive a letter from the Assessment Center in early June.  This letter will include your Login Name, Password, Schedule of Assessments, and a Checklist of requirements information for a successful completion of online assessment.  - Once you get this letter, please make sure that all of the information it contains is accurate.
  5. Set aside some time your calendar to login and complete both the math and writing assessments during your allotted time (click here to see the schedule of assessments).  

    PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MATH ASSESSMENT IS TIMED AND MUST BE COMPLETED IN ONE SESSION, AND YOUR PLACEMENT ESSAY MUST BE SUBMIT BY NO LATER THAN 5 P.M. CENTRAL DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ON THE DATE OF YOUR DEADLINE.
  6. Visit the Online Assessment Website at http://condor.depaul.edu/~placeyou/online prior to your scheduled dates of assessments to familiarize yourself with the website.
  7. Login to either the Math Assessment or Writing Assessment site on the day of your assessments (click here to see the schedule of assessments).
  8. Following the directions of the screen, complete both of your assessments on time.
  9. Receive a confirmation letter via email of your successful completion of your assessments from the Assessment Center.  

    PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR ASSESSMENT SCORES UNTIL YOU MEET WITH ON ACADEMIC ADVISOR DURING ORIENTATION.
  10. Come to the Lincoln Park Campus on the date of your orientation and sign in with the Office of Academic Enhancement.
  11. Participate in your orientation program, and take a modern language assessment if you wish.
  12. Meet with your academic advisor, at which time you will learn of your assessment scores, and decide on the best courses to take for your particular academic career.
