Technical Information

What if I'm not a computer wizard?

The online assessment site has been designed to be very easy to use.  Students who have internet access and some experience doing the following things with a computer should encounter no problem with completing their mathematics and writing assessments online:

If you believe that any one or more of the items above are unfamiliar or unavailable to you, YOU MUST WITHDRAW FROM THE ONLINE ASSESSMENT OPTION AND REGISTER TO ANOTHER ORIENTATION PROGRAM (PREMIERE DEPAUL FOR FRESHMEN, TRANSFER TRANSITION FOR TRANSFERS).  To do this, please contact the Office of Academic Enhancement at http://www.depaul.edu/academicenhancement

A note about browsers:

Students must use either Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or higher of Netscape 6 or higher.  The math assessment displays some graphs and other diagrams which may not be accurately rendered by other browsers.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our students and offer links to the appropriate browsers from the manufacturers free of charge.

About Passwords...

The online assessment sites are password protected.  Students who register for an online assessment orientation date (July 25 -26: Premiere #6, July 31: Transfer Transition #4, or August 5 - 6: Premiere DePaul #9) will receive a mailing from our office (The Assessment Center) which will include the following items:

July 25 - 26 Premiere DePaul # 6 Students:

If you haven't received the letter from the Assessment Center by Monday June 24, please contact us.

On the appropriate dates of assessments (depending on the schedule of assessments), you will need to visit our website (http://condor.depaul.edu/~placeyou/online) and login to either the math assessment site or writing assessment site.
