Effect of Using D2L on Student and Faculty Outcomes

Presentation Overview
The presenters share initial results of a study on the effect of the LMS on student and faculty outcomes. Several online classes were taught in both Blackboard and Desire2Learn. The Desire2Learn classes had the same content, but used interactive and linked checklists; automated emails to faculty and students; deadlines and calendars; and contiguous structuring of course elements. The study presents initial findings of student and faculty satisfaction and the perceptions of social presence, teaching presence and cognitive presence.
