Part 1. Revisit and revamp your original Website critique.

Critique the site you used for your first homework assignment. Be sure to focus on functionality, design and usability this time. Look over the comments of your first evaluation and your first heuristic evaluation and be sure to correct whatever I pointed out previously. I will be looking for progress and increased understanding of usability analysis.

• What is the purpose of the site? (loss of points if not done)
  
• Who is the target audience? (loss of points if not done)
• What is good about the site? 5 pt.
• What makes the site usable? 20 pt.
• Pick 5 of the usability heuristics and apply them to the site.
  • Inform me which 5 you chose and why. 15 pt.
  • Describe the sample tasks you went through in order to perform the evaluation; summarize your procedure. 15 pt.
  • Specifically relate how you evaluated each heuristic and intentionally make mistakes to see how the site responds to and deals with your errors. 15 pt.
  • Utilize screen shots to demonstrate your points. 15 pt.
• How would you make it better? 15 pt.
  • Keep your usability analysis in mind for this portion as well
• Remember to describe the process you went through that allowed you to arrive at your conclusions.
• Proofreading errors cause point loss up to 10 pt. total
• Bring a hard copy to class next Tuesday 11/5.
• Do not email me a copy or a link to the paper!

Be descriptive, avoid generalizations, and take care in your writing. Grades depend on evidence of effort expended- in that if you tried and made mistakes, you will still get points as opposed to blowing the assignment off for which you will score poorly.

Part 2. 100 points.

Design and Create the form page of your site.

• Use JavaScript to change the text color to something other than red, green, or black. 25 pt.
• You need to specify METHOD and ACTION 10 pt.

Your form must have at least:

• 4 text input areas 15 pt. total
  • At least 2 of those must have specified allotment of characters
  • one must have a multi-line text area.
• a hidden field 10 pt.
• a radio button selection area 5 pt.
• A check box selection area 5 pt.
• A drop down selection area with at least 3 choices
• a submit button with 15 pt.
