Part 1 100 pt.

  • Proofreading errors cause point loss up to 10 pt. total

  • Describe the purpose of the page. 10 pt.

  • Describe the sample tasks you went through in order to perform the evaluation; summarize your procedure. 10 pt.

  • For each of the 10 heuristics, describe how the page does or does not adhere to them in your own language. 30 pt.

  • Use screen shots to demonstrate your findings. 20 pt.

  • Create a list of recommendations on what needs to be improved and why. 20 pt.

  • Conclude with a brief discussion on what you learned about evaluation from this exercise- such as how it will affect future work, as well as your impression of usability and HCI. 10 pt.

Be descriptive, avoid generalizations, and take care in your writing. Grades depend on evidence of effort expended- in that if you tried and made mistakes, you will still get points as opposed to blowing the assignment off for which you will score poorly.

Part 2 Tables and Links 100 pt.

Proof read your code- make sure all tags have closing tags and that you aren't missing any. Make sure your images are referenced correctly; do not include links to something that does not exist- if you have yet to make the page- don't put a live link to it (you can comment it out). Check your page "live" meaning on the Internet before sending me the link- does it look the way you want it to? Check it in more than one browser- I will.

  • Put up "skeleton pages" or pages that only have the basic tags, the navigation elements and the name of the page for all of your pages 10 pt.
  • Create the navigational system that will link all of the pages of your Website. This will require locally linking your pages.
    • Put your navigation into a table with a cell for each link. 30 pt. total
  • Learn how to align the contents of tables- put your images and text into tables and use the align tag to determine how to best position your elements. 20 pt.
  • Put at least one anchored link on one of your pages 10 pt.
  • Put an automatic email link on at least one of your pages. 10 pt.
  • Link to at least one other site outside of your own. 10 pt.
  • Use a single celled table to house all of the content on each of your pages. 10 pt.

Email me a link to your Homepage. Indicate which page has the automatic email link, and which page has the anchored link.
