Rationale is worth 50 points needed to cover:

  • What are some of the other sites that do the same thing or similar things?
  • How do you want yours to be different?
  • What is the goal of your site?
  • Who is the intended audience of your site?
  • Why will they want to go to your site?
  • What will they expect to be able to do on your site?

  • What kind of technology (browser/platform) will they be using to access your site?
This question required you to research what types of technology your intended users rely on including Internet connection speed, browser type, browser version, and computer type. This could be done by doing online research into user characteristics as well as deducing from sites similar to yours the type of tech and experience your intended population relies on.

  • What are some basic user characteristics of your audience (age? any disabilities? native language/culture? reading level? Internet experience level?)
This question required you to do some research into your intended user population's demographic info including reading level, culture, Internet usage experience etc. You could determine this by looking at demographic sites as well as making deductions based on what sites that are similar to your target.

Again, your answers were judged on the specificity of the information, and whether they reflected thought and effort being spent in order to arrive at your answers.
