Blue Demon Group
Vision
DePaul University
sits centrally in the Chicago business community in more ways than just
its downtown Loop location. As a collection of colleges, it mentors a variety
of industry skill sets to next generation leaders in the fields of technology,
business management, and social improvement, to name a few. DePaul is a
hub for diversity, attracting faculty, staff, and students from widely
varying backgrounds, vocations, cultures, economic statuses, and walks-of-life.
The Blue Demon
Group will become a central repository for the hard work, ideas, theories,
and experiences of faculty and students that live in every part of Chicago
and the surrounding community.
Summary
The Blue Demon
Group institutionalizes a connection between DePaul’s intellectual resources
and the Chicago business community’s real-world experience.
The business
community will benefit through closer contact with DePaul research, faculty
initiatives, student project teams, recruiting, and connections to the
initiatives of other DePaul-affiliated firms. The DePaul community will
more directly access the leaders of Chicago’s institutions who will complement
academic theory with real-world examples.
Goals
Foster a closer
connection between the DePaul University community and the greater Chicago
business community.

Create opportunities
for DePaul students to access area business leaders and ways for business
leaders to interact with future leaders.
-
Expose the business
community to DePaul research and initiatives in the areas of technology
use, technology commercialization, and business management.
-
With DePaul acting
as a "switchboard," connect Group participants with opportunities throughout
the Chicago area.
-
Leverage Group relationships
to make better use of existing resources within DePaul (i.e. enhance placement
opportunities for the Career Center by sharing business community’s needs).
