Homework Assignment 6
Due: Friday, May 13, 2011

Despite my in class requests and my in writing requests on the homework assignments, many of you are still not using relative addressing on your pages. If you need to review what this means, please see Relative Addressing. I am going to start taking off even more points for not using relative addresses for pages on your website (including your assignments page).

 References for this assignment :

Part 1: (30pts) Continue working on your website:
Part 2: (50pts) Special Effects

Carefully read over the special effects given above in the two Special Effects links under  References for this assignment . You must choose at least two of them and work them into your website. Don't just throw them in, make them fit in natuarally.

Part 3: (20pts) Update your assignment index page:
  • Make a copy of your old "Assignments5.htm" file. Name this copy: "Assignments6.htm" (version 6). Keep the old copy as is.
  • Update the file by creating a link to all six of the Homework 6 items, as in previous assignments.
  • I need to know where your special effects are. So next to a link to a page that has a special effect, state which effect it is. For example (after your previous 4 homework entries):

    1. Homework 6

  • Using SSH, upload "Assignments6.htm" into your IT130 folder on students.
  • Make sure you can view it in the browser by typing in the URL you will be submitting, and click on all the links on it to verify that they lead to the appropriate files!
What to submit:
  • Use COLweb to submit the URL to your Assignment list page. It should look like this:
I must be able to view your updated website files form this page only so make sure your links are correct! Remember: Unix is case sensitive! Write down the file names above EXACTLY the way you have saved them into your students account, and do not forget the ~ in the URL. Since this is just one line, please submit it in the comment box provided by the COLweb submission system. Thank you.
