Important Foreign Study Options

It is really important that every student of comparative and international politics consider how and when the opportunity to study abroad can enhance both personal and intellectual development!  There are a series of related options as well as a number that, while unrelated to comparing East European system, are very valuable on their own merit.

It is certainly true that such options will involve some extra costs but usually not as much as you might assume.  Nonetheless, it is important for all students who consider such options to understand that the living conditions will be different.  There is no point visiting and studying places that are just "like we are."

You must have a genuine curiosity and a sense of adventure because things abroad simply do not turn out just the way you planned them.  This is especially true in East Europe.
