We offer a range of ways we can support you in your teaching at DePaul, including course-embedded tutors through the Writing Fellows Program and one-on-one consultations about your teaching.
To help you promote the Writing Center and encourage your students to use the Writing Center, we have both boilerplate text you can add to your course syllabus document and a preset learning object in D2L you can add your course site.
We can also support you in your own writing and publishing, including regular appointments with a tutor on your own writing and, when available, free-of-charge copyediting for manuscripts & scholarly articles.
Visit the Teaching Commons for materials & strategies focused on writing assignment design, grading writing, and other aspects of using teaching (with) writing.
It is strongly recommended that you make use of the Writing Center throughout your time at DePaul. The Writing Center provides free peer writing tutoring for DePaul students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Writing Center tutors work with writers at all stages of the writing process, from invention to revision, and they are trained to identify recurring issues in your writing as well as address any specific questions or areas that you want to talk about. Visit the DePaul University Writing Center website to learn more about the range of Writing Center appointment options.
