The UCWbL knows how central writing and publishing are for faculty and thus provide a range of initiatives and support for any instructor at DePaul in these endeavors.
Writing Center appointments are available to all members of the DePaul community, including faculty and staff.
Get feedback from a Writing Center Tutor face to face, through written feedback, via screencast, or online in realtime on any type of writing at any point of the writing process.
Because Writing Center Tutors work with hundreds of different assignments every quarter, consider asking for feedback on your assignments or syllabus. They can offer valuable insights about how to communicate your expectations effectively to your target audience.
A Writing Center Tutor can provide you feedback on the creation of a personal, professional, or course ePortfolio. All UCWbL staff are knowledgeable and experienced with building ePortfolios in Digication--DePaul's university-supported ePortfolio platform.
Make an AppointmentIn addition to Writing Center appointments, the UCWbL provides copy editing and indexing services and helps facilitate faculty writing groups.
The UCWbL provides free copy-editing for DePaul faculty, staff, and dissertators. We offer these services in English as well as other languages, depending on the expertise of our current staff.
Turnaround time is typically two weeks per article or chapter.
If you are interested in copy-editing, please contact Lauri Dietz (ldietz@depaul.edu).
The UCWbL provides free indexing services for DePaul faculty and staff.
Turnaround time is typically three months.
If you are interested in requesting the UCWbL's indexing services, please contact Lauri Dietz (ldietz@depaul.edu).
A Writing Group can be productive and fun way to create ongoing writing support and social accountability to meet your writing and publishing deadlines for tenure, promotion, or personal goals.
The UCWbL is here to help you and your colleagues form and structure your writing group or to help you find a writing group appropriate for your writing goals.
For questions about writing groups, please contact Edward Evins (Edward.Evins@depaul.edu).
