HCI 201 Multimedia and the World Wide Web

Fall 1999 - Section 703 - Animation

Wormy

To use animation on the Web, we use an animated GIF.

An animated GIF is a series of images in the GIF89a format that have been saved together in one file that includes timing and looping information.

Animated GIFs are inserted into Web pages just like any image, with the possible addition of a LOOP attribute to set the number of times to loop the animation (if not already set in the animation itself).

<IMG SRC="animated.gif" HEIGHT=# WIDTH=# LOOP=#>
