Personal Inventory

Purpose: To evaluate your attachment style and explore how your attachment beliefs may influence social interaction.

Assignment: During the quarter you will be asked to complete an attachment style questionnaire. Next, you should find three research articles looking at the relationship between your attachment style and various communicative behaviors (e.g., self-disclosure, conflict, deception, jealousy, etc). Based on your research, you will be asked to write a report discussing what you learned about your communicative style.

Mechanics: Your written discussion should be 2 pages in length (not including the references). All papers must be typed, double-spaced, and with one-inch margins. To avoid the appearance of plagiarism, be sure to cite all your sources in the text of the paper. Also include a reference list. Use APA style when citing references and making a reference list. Please keep a copy of your analysis for your own records.

Grading Criteria: Your discussion will be graded according to how well you demonstrate your knowledge regarding your attachment style and how it relates to the way you typically communicate.
