As a part of the  sequence of Midwest Algebra Seminars/Conferences that started recently, the Mathematics Department at DePaul University is hosting an International Hopf Algebras Conference on February 1-3, 2002. The event will take place at the Loop Campus, in downtown Chicago. All inquiries should be directed to Stefan Catoiu at

We have negotiated an $89/night S/D room rate with Congress Plaza Hotel, which is within walking distance of the conference site. This rate will be available for reservations made until January 11, 2002.
For reservations, please dial 1-800-635-1666 MEETINGS AT DEPAUL, and quote the name of the conference.

For low airfare rates, you might like to try the website
We were able to find very good rates for both domestic and international flights: New York (from $118), Los Angeles (from 198), Halifax (from $310), London (from $268), Paris (from $320), Munich (from $320), Tel Aviv (from $668).
Make sure you first input only your departure/arrival places, and ask for lowest fare. After selecting an airline, you will be given a calendar to fill in with your desired dates. (you have to try several airlines; some of them just do not work) If you input the dates before asking for the lowest fare, you get the rate that most travel agents would give you: 50% more.
