When trying to make travel arrangements on your own, a good website for online hotel reservations is http://www.expedia.com under ``Hotels''. We tried to call some hotels in the Chicago area, and it looks like the rates by a phone reservation are about 70% higher than the online rates. Another website for hotels is http://www.hotwire.com, where one of the participants has got a room for two nights at the Hilton Towers for $70/night total including taxes. He has also seen decent hotels on the O'Hare area coming up for $33/night.
