The Rif Raff Book Club met Thursday June 28 for the book selection From Russia With Love by Ian Flemming at the 'James Joyce' tavern on Winsor Avenue and Harlem in Berwyn.

The James Joyce tavern kind of resembled an English Pub which brought atmosophere to the James Bond book. The tavern was rather crowded but we managed to find a table.

From Russia With Love by Ian Flemming

Reader # 1's review:

I had never read a James Bond book before. I thought this was a good 'pulp fiction' read suited for the summer. The story kept my interest. I had to chuckle a couple times about the technology used. But then again the book was written in 1956. It was well researched as to the foreign countries Bond visited and I liked the fact that Flemming tried to give the reader a taste of the local culture. Would I read another Bond book? Probably, if I was in the mood for light summer reading.
