Referencing
There is no specific, required format for citing references as long as the system you use:
- includes a reference by author and date in the appropriate place(s) in the body of your text;
- includes a reference list at the end of the text that has, for each citation, the author(s), year of publication, title of article or book/journal, volume number (if journal), first and last pages of the article or page(s) from the book.
There are several ways to do this and you may want to consult this reference guide for either AMA style or APA style.
( - Examples of a straightforward format for referencing may be found in articles published in the The American Journal of Human Genetics.)
