Student's FAQ for DePaul CTI Tutoring
Q: Who is eligible for tutoring?
Any student currently enrolled in a DePaul CTI course is eligible for tutoring.
Q: How much does tutoring cost?
Tutoring is free.
Q: When are tutors available?
Monday – Friday 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Q: Where are the tutors located?
Tutors are located in the 2nd floor lab of CTI, room 208.
Q: How do I schedule an appointment with a tutor?
Tutoring is on a walk-in basis. A sign-up sheet is located in the 2nd floor lab for half-hour increments. Tutors will make every effort to meet with people in a timely manner.
Q: What can a tutor do for me?
The DePaul CTI tutors are dedicated to helping students understand the key concepts necessary for success in their courses. However, tutors absolutely will not write code, debug programs or complete homework assignments. Both students and tutors are required to follow the guidelines of the Academic Integrity Policy of DePaul University.
Q: What courses can I get help with?
Most tutors can aid students in the undergraduate core courses. Further, some tutors may be able to help with graduate level courses. Consult the website at www.cs.depaul.edu/resources for a complete list of courses and available tutors.
Q: I have a comment or complaint about the tutors. Who can I contact?
If you have any complaints or comments about a tutor or the CTI tutoring program please email tutors@cs.depaul.edu.
Q: I am a DL student, can I still get tutoring?
Yes. It is most efficient if you can come to the lab for a face-to-face visit with the tutor. However, if you are unable to make it to the lab, you may make arrangements to contact a tutor by phone or email by contacting tutors@cs.depaul.edu. Please contact us well in advance, as it may take more than a day to arrange this.
Q: What should I bring with me?
Students should bring all course material (books, handouts, notes, etc) with them.
