Reference:   Style Sheets

• Pick two years between 1936 to 1979 (inclusive) from the events of The History of Computers.

  In an HTML document, corresponding to the years you picked, describe the computer event that occured on that date. Give the date of each event and explain why you think the events are interesting or important.

• Enhance Your Web Page

  1. Create style definitions to change the color, font-size, and font-family of the body text, and at least two p classes. Set the background-color for the body also.
  2. Format the headings (<h1> and <h2>) using styles.
  3. Include a line using the <hr /> tag.
  4. Create a footer that uses the <address> tag and includes the copyright symbol.
  5. For each of the two computer events you selected, include a link to some site on the web that gives more information about the event.

• You should have two or more paragraphs per event. You can find more information about your event using Google if the above link does not have enough information on your chosen topic.

• Use lists, either ordered or unordered.

• Embed one or two relevant photos in your document. Make the text flow around the images. Here's an example of how to do that (just view the source).

• Deductions will be made
  for poor spelling or grammar in your submission.

  if you do not explain why you think the event you chose is interesting or important.

  if the HTML file you submit is poorly designed.

• Your submission must be in the form of an HTML file (extension .htm) and must be uploaded so that it can be viewed at the URL http://students.depaul.edu/~jsmith/Hw2-smith.htm (replace jsmith by your username.)
• Submit the URL of your page as a comment in COLweb.
• Do not submit the HTML file directly.   Do not email me the URL.
