Opening Exercise - Names


Step One:  IMPRESSION

        Listen  (ask to repeat it if it wasn't clear)
Concentrate on gettting the name right, 
Ask the person to repeat the name if they didn't say it clearly
Ask the person to spell an unusual name

        The Person
Study the person in you mind and get a clear idea of
what the person looks like

        Want to remember
Saying you want to remember makes it easier 
REALLY WANT TO

Step Two:  REPETITION
      
        Use the name immediately
        Use it often
        Repeat it silently
        Talk about the name
        Refresh your memory

Step Three: ASSOCIATION

        Mind picture
        Rhyme or similar meaning
        Meaning


Hamilton _ Picture Mr. Hamilton with a human head, ham body
           Walking onto platform scale with a shout of ONE TON.

 


Van Hatten _ Picture Mr. Van Hatten driving a huge van.
             Van is covered by hat   van hat on


Warlawski _ Picture Ms. Warlawski in Military Uniform with
            law book sking to combat
