Wireless LANs Will Likely be the Best Alternative

• Wireless LANs have the advantage in hazardous environments, in historic buildings where wiring ducts are full, for disaster recovery, and in temporary installations. Furthermore, there are many instances where temporary communications are needed, and wireless are much easier to reconfigure. Wireless LANs use either light (in the form of infrared) or radio (in the form of narrowband or spread spectrum) technologies to transmit signals.
