                     SCG 402    PSCHOLOGY OF LEARNING 

Course Description
Study the teaching and learning process with a special emphasis on students as learners. Topics include human capacity and
potential, learning theories and their application to curriculum materials and classroom practice, concept development, and
motivation. Case situations are based on diverse learners in their social/cultural context. 

NOTE: this course is offered using Blackboard's CourseInfo as an Internet-based course management tool. Course
information including readings, assignments, and technology resources will be available via the Internet. Students will be
enrolled to use the site where they will have available various communication resources including chat rooms, white boards
and access to Blackboard's in-house resources. In addition, the interactive textbook for the course contains a variety of
technological resources on the CD-Rom including links to teaching and learning resources on the web. The purpose of the
technology is to enhance teachers utilization of technological resources to advance students learning. The perspective of
this course is that psychological theory should be applied using the latest technological resources available. The instructor
will have "virtual" office hours.
