-2017/18: -June 26, 2018: Windsor Aguirre gave a seminar for the Center for Inclusive Education at Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, NY): From Alaska to Ecuador: Studying evolution in the age of extinction. -May 18, 2018: Kirby Karpan and Tasha Wierzal presented at the Biology Senior Symposium. Kirby also was named DePaul Biology Major of the year. Congratulations Kirby and Tasha! -April 7, 2018: Roberto Cucalon, Sara Alharbi, and Joe Forberg presented at the Midwest Ecology and Evolution conference at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station (Michigan State University). Way to go lab! -March, 2018: Jessica Vaclav presented her thesis proposal "Ecological Stoichiometry of Neotropical Fishes along elevation gradients of the Andes Mountains" to the Department. -March, 2018: Sara Alharbi received a Graduate Research Fund grant from the College of Science and Health at DePaul University. Congratulations Sara! -March, 2018: Joe Forberg was admitted to the Ph.D. program at Clark University. Congratulations Joe! -February, 2018: Thom Sanger was our invited 2018 Darwin Day speaker and presented on his Anolis Evo-Devo research. -December 8, 2017: Roberto Cucalon and Joe Forberg both received Graduate Research Fund grants from the College of Science and Health at DePaul University. Congratulations Roberto and Joe! -November 27-28, 2017: Windsor Aguirre participated in a workshop to categorize endangered freshwater fishes in Ecuador organized by the Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad at the offices of the Wildlife Conservation Society in Quito, Ecuador. -November 14, 2017: Sara Alharbi passed her orals. Congratulations Sara! -November 10, 2017: We had our last Lab meeting of the quarter and celebrated Franklin Joaquin, who is graduating this quarter.
