-2015/16: -June 13, 2016: It's official, Windsor Aguirre has been promoted to Associate Professor. Looking forward to many more years at DePaul! -June 3, 2016: Congratulations to Alex Jagla who is graduating from DePaul this month. He participated in his last lab meeting today. Good luck Alex! -May 7, 2016: The Aguirre Lab hosted a group of middle school students for Vincentian Service Day. Very bright group, great experience. -April 2016: Congratulations to Winer Daniel Reyes who has been hired as an instructor at the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral in Guayaquil, Ecuador. -April 13, 2016: Windsor Aguirre spent a morning representing "scientist/professor" for Career Day at CICS West Belden. Great kids, great school, great experience. -April, 2016: Congratulations to Lab alumnus Marissa Locke. Marissa will be joining the Ph.D. Program in the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences at Washington University (Saint Louis) in August. Way to go Marissa! -April, 2016: Congratulations to Thomas Borders and Kirby Karpan for their successful Summer internship applications. Thomas will work at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science while Kirby will work at the Shedd Aquarium. -March 4, 2016: Fantastic seminar by Alison Bell at DePaul. Go stickleback! -February 12, 2016: Dr. Chuck Knapp, Vice President of Conservation and Research of the Shedd Aquarium was our 2016 DePaul Darwin Day speaker. Thanks Chuck for the wonderful presentation! -November 19, 2015: Congratulations to Grace Malato for successfully defending her thesis: Genetic and Morphological Diversity Along Altitudinal Gradients in the Genus Rhoadsia (Teleostei: Characidae: Rhoadsiinae). Job well done! -November 6, 2015: Thomas Borders, Alex Jagla, and Kirby Karpan presented at the DePaul Science Showcase. Way to represent! -November 3, 2015: Windsor Aguirre presented an invited seminar entitled: "Evolutionary Diversification in Temperate and Tropical Ecosystems: Lessons from Freshwater Fishes", at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, as part of the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area, Biology Division Seminar in Molecular Ecology. -August 14, 2015: Congratulations to Daniel Reyes for successfully defending his thesis: Effects of temperature and water flow on morphology of Astyanax mexicanus (Telesostei: Characidae). Way to go M.S. Reyes! -July, 2015: Windsor Aguirre presented at the Evolution meeting in Guaruja, Brazil in June and at the Stickleback Meeting in Stony Brook, NY this Summer. |
