-2014/15:

-May 18, 2015: Former Research Assistant Sara Zufan will be starting a Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology at Columbia University in the Fall. Congratulations Sara!

-May, 2015: Katie Carlson was named the Senior of the Year for the Department of Biological Sciences at DePaul University. Congratulations Katie!

-May 6, 2015: Roberto Cucalon and Leandro Bajana successfully defended their undergraduate thesis at the Escuela Politecnica Superior del Litoral: "Filogeografía molecular del guanchiche Hoplias spp. (Characiformes: Erythrinidae) de la costa Ecuatoriana".

-May 2, 2015: Grace Malato and Daniel Reyes gave a group of 7th and 8th grades a tour of our lab for the Day at DePaul program.

-April, 2015: Windsor Aguirre gave DeSACNAS families a tour of his lab for DeSACNAS Parent Day at DePaul.

-April, 2015: Lab alumnus Vinh Vu will be starting a Ph.D. program in microbiology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Congratulations Vinh!

-March, 2015: Marissa Locke and Alex Jagla were awarded Summer Fellowships to work at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

-February, 2015: Juan Carlos and Granda and Cristhian Montero successfully defended their undergraduate thesis at the Escuela Politecnica Superior del Litoral: "APLICACION DE MORFOMETRIA GEOMETRICA PARA LA COMPARACION DE DISTINTAS POBLACIONES DE GUANCHICHE (Hoplias spp.) EN ECOSISTEMAS LENTICOS Y LOTICOS DEL ECUADOR".

-February, 2015: DePaul held its 4th Annual Darwin Day celebration. Special thanks to David Toews from Cornell for being our invited Darwin Day speaker.

-December, 2014: Grace Malato won a Sigma Xi grant for her work on ddRAD sequencing of Rhoadsia. Way to go Grace!

-November, 2014: Lissette Arellano and Katie Carlson presented at the DePaul Science Showcase. Thanks for making us look great!

-November, 2014: Windsor Aguirre was awarded a DePaul College of Science and Health Summer Research grant. We will be studying Astyanax vertebral development next Summer. Thanks to the College for the continued support!

-September, 2014: Windsor Aguirre was an invited Colloquium speaker for the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University. His talk was entitled: "Tinkering with Form and Function: Insights from the Threespine Stickleback and Neotropical Fishes".

-September, 2014: Windsor Aguirre was invited to form part of the External Advisory Board for the AGEP-T FRAME program at Stony Brook University".

-August, 2014: Daniel Reyes is a new "fish" father. He has successfully bread Astyanax mexicanus. Our fish room is full of tetra fry!

-July, 2014: Grace Malato and Windsor Aguirre had a successful trip to Ecuador. Field work went well and Grace has plenty of samples to process for her thesis.

-June, 2014: Grace Malato, Daniel Reyes, and Windsor Aguirre presented at the Evolution Meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina.

-June, 2014: Windsor Aguirre was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success, DePaul University Chapter.
