The advent of the new millenium invites assessment of the elements that contribute to effective prevention efforts. Panel members will discuss recommendations based upon their experiences in a variety of settings: evaluating outcomes of prevention interventions for children, establishing school-community linkages, and collaborating with communities to reduce youth access to tobacco. Panel members will also discuss what the future of prevention may entail given technological advances, and reaffirm the applicability of contextual approaches.
