My Background

I am originally from a small village in the North of Pakistan called Sara-e-Norang (District Banue - N.W.F.P.).  Ironically enough I never happened to live in Norang by myself;  every once in a while my Dad used to take us to Norang to keep in touch with our roots but that's about it.  I spent most of my childhood (actually the first 19 years of my life), however, in another small town in the North of Pakistan called Kohat.  Hence, most of my memories associated with Pakistan actually belong to the time I spent in Kohat.  The only other major city of Pakistan to which I can really relate in terms of memories was Peshawar - primarily because of the fact that it was the home town of my Mom and also because it happened to be the only major city around.  Well, there is one more reason for it too - some of our closest cousins used to live there.

                                                                              My Family

Following is a brief introduction of my family, if you don't understand anything - just ignore it.

Speaking of my family, you can conclude with out any doubt that I have the true blue blood in me.  First of all I am a Sayed which says it all.  Other then that, On my Dad's side my Great Grand Father was the prince of Afghanistan (Hazrat Sahibzada Abdul-Latif Shaheed "rz").  My Grand father (Sahibzada Tayyab Latif "rh") was Hafizul- Quran, a well respected Land Lord in Sara-e-Norang, and a well recognized Aalim of AMI.  My Dad Sahibzada Jamil Latif who has been an Ameer-e-Jumat in Kohat for ten consecutive years is currently an Alaquai - Ameer in Hayatabad, Peshawar.  He is a very successful banker, a well spoken and well read man with an energetic personality, strong character, excellent communication skills, and strenuous leadership qualities.  He is a vigorous manager and a zealous person, in other words: He's the MAN.

On my Mom's side, my Grand Father (Hazrat Rustam Khan Khattak Shaheed "rh") converted to Ahmadiyat purely based upon his own knowledge and research.  He was a very learned man with dynamic personality and used to work as a government employee in Survey of Pakistan.  And what to speak of my Mom except that she is the most beautiful woman on the face of the planet.  She has a bachelors in Geography from Jinnah College Peshawar.  She also has a very good taste in literature and great deal of appreciation towards the natural beauty; hence, she indeed is a blue bird.

Blood of Shohada` from both the sides, how often does that happen???  I know, how it says in Islam that its all about what you are, not where you are coming from but hey, I am proud of my family tree...

Here are some of the pictures of my family.  I will put some more up as soon I get to scan them - so keep visiting.
