HCI 201 -- Ex6 -- Working With Tables, Color, and Images
Goal: Create an artistic collage, which consists of a table of
cells with colored backgrounds and cells containing text or images.
Read the directions below and sketch out your design with pencil and
paper before starting to work with front page.
IMPORTANT: Start thinking about the subject of your collage
and start looking for images to use before we work on this exercise
in class. Do not choose the subject "Jewels in the Sky" or
use images of planets in your collage.
- Create a new One-page Web in FrontPage named
ex6smith. Name the HTML page collage.htm
- You have the choice of the following:
- Use a table to hold your images and text.
- Use layers to hold images and text.
- If you use a table, turn off the borders of the table in
Table Properties.
- You can also change the cell padding and cell spacing in the
Table Properties.
- Download any images you want to use into the images folder
of your FrontPage Web. Change the file names so they contain
only lower case letters and possibly dashes (no upper case letters
or spaces). Resize images with MS Paint or FrontPage if necessary
so their sizes are all less than 25K.
- Insert text into some of the cells if you wish.
- Change the background color or text color of cells in
Cell Properties.
- Add a WordArt banner to your page. Important:
you may wish to do this first if you are using layers.
- Upload your entire web ex6smith to students.depaul.edu.
- Update your table of contents created in Ex5 to refer to
your Ex6 collage instead of the Ex6 stub page.
