The Rif Raff Book Club met Sunday, August 2nd for the book selection Disco Bloodbath by James St. James at a Book Club Member's house.

This was the Rif Raff Book Club's summer barbeque and what a great time everyone had. The tents, the decorations, the food, the Disco music -- everything was top-notch. This was the best showing of the year with Rif Raff Book Club members spilling out onto the lawn. Many members thought that the barbeque should be an annual thing.

Disco Bloodbath by James St. James

Reader # 1's review:

I thought the book was interesting in highlighting the 'Club Kid' culture in New York during the '80's. The story itself was rather secondary as to the development of the characters and their lifestyles. It makes one think about what is important in one's life. These kids obviously had some screwy priorities. The book was so easy to read, I finished it in 2 days. I doubt that the author could write another book as this was his life story. The drug culture and the story of these 'lost' people is rather sad. It just shows that in some repects, society has 'throw-away' people.
