Account help
After you have your student account on the students.depaul.edu
machine, you will use SSH to transfer files to that machine. To use SSH, you
will need your login and password for the students.depaul.edu machine; this may
not be the same as your Campus Connect login and password.
Disabled account problem
For security reasons, your student account will be disabled/locked if you try to login with the wrong password
three times. If this happens, call the DePaul Help Desk (not the same as the
CDM Help Desk):
(312)
362-8765 (Technology Contact Center)
M-Th 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Fri 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat 8 a.m.
- 4 p.m., Sun 12 - 4 p.m.
Tell the operator that you are locked
out of your web space account on students.depaul.edu and you need it reset.
The operator will reset your account and possibly reset your password. (If you
say you're locked out of your email account, you may
not get the problem solved.)
Out of memory problem
The current disk quota for student accounts is 15 Mb. This memory space has to be used for both email and web pages. If you are using SSH and it gives an error when you try to upload a file, you have probably run out of memory space, even if the SSH error message didn't mention memory space. In this case, delete old emails or files, especially large image files. Note: When you delete emails, they are moved into the trash folder and stay there until you empty the trash folder. The emails keep using up memory space until you empty the trash folder.
