Limiting Searches

Limiting to printed music

In any Browse or Keyword search, select Limit by Type of Material, and then Musical Score.


Limiting to Compact discs

Two strategies:

1. In any Browse or Keyword search, select Limit by Material Type, and then Musical Recording. Sort results by Date Descending. More recently dated recordings will be compact discs.
2. In a information). Keyword Anywhere search, add the phrase compact disc? to other terms (such as composer and title The ? ensures that you retrieve recordings with multiple discs.

Limiting to videos and interactive multimedia

Use one of the following strategies:

• In any Browse or Keyword search select Limit by Type of Material, and then Video/Media.
• In a Keyword Anywhere search, add the word video? to other terms in the search. The ? ensures that you retrieve videocassettes, videodiscs, as well as a multiple-video set.
  

  Examples:

  mozart nozze di figaro video?

  verdi rigoletto video?

• To limit to interactive multimedia (e.g, CD-ROM), in a Keyword Anywhere search add the terms music cd-rom or music interactive multimedia to other terms in a search. This may also retrieve books about music computer files.

  Examples:

  music cd-rom

  music software

  music interactive multimedia
