Exhibits and Advertising
Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to exhibit at the annual conference of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centres, to be held at the University of California, Berkeley, from 4 to 9 August 2002. IAML is the worldwide professional association of music librarians and archivists. At the 2001 conference-held in Périgueux, France-delegates from 42 countries, representing all continents, attended. The annual conference is held in the United States only once every 20 years or so: this year's meeting is a rare opportunity for you to reach librarians from around the world right here. We expect an especially robust representation of Asian countries, given the geographic proximity of California to that region.
IAML attendees-we expect about 400 delegates this year-represent the major public, university, and conservatory libraries, as well as research institutes, commercial, broadcasting and national libraries. Music librarians in the U.S.A. alone collectively spend over $50 million dollars annually on music and media products; multiply that by the many countries present to grasp the international purchasing power represented by IAML attendees. Their interests will include not only library materials (scores, books, sound and video recordings, etc.), but also equipment and supplies for preservation; office and instructional automation; music software; furnishings; and contracted services such as cataloging and Web page design.
You will find an exhibit information form
and a registration form here.
Please print out and return this form as soon as possible with payment;
while the exhibit registration deadline is 31 May 2002, we anticipate that
the response to this opportunity may challenge the available exhibit space.
If that happens, the space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Following receipt of your reservation and payment, you will receive a packet
containing confirmation of your reservation, drayage/shipping information,
computer rental and Internet connectivity information, an accommodation reservation form,
and full conference information.
A second form for placing an advertisement in the conference program booklet and for placing an insert in conference registration bags may be found here. The advertising form with payment must be received no later than 1 May 2002. Advertising copy must be received no later than 17 May 2002; inserts must be received by 29 July 2002.
We anticipate a wonderful and exciting conference, with many excellent sessions, cultural and recreational excursions, and-most important for you-valuable opportunities to present your products and services to this wide-ranging and influential group.
