• One of my degrees from the University of Michigan was a BM in Horn Performance (1998).

• My primary teachers there were Lowell Greer (international soloist and natural hornist extraordinaire (!)) and Bryan Kennedy (Detroit Symphony).

• On a whim (and largely out of curiosity), I just recently bought a new horn- a Holton H200 B flat/F alto descant horn.
  I never in a million years thought I would ever say this about a Holton, but wow, this has to be one of the finest horns I've ever played!

  But hey, if Lowell Greer is willing to play on one, then it's good enough for me! :-)

  • This is our old quartet on a run-through of the Kerry Turner Quartet #1. I'm playing on an Alex 103 here. Forget what the second horn was playing (8D, maybe?). Both the third and fourth horns (both really fine players) are playing on Kortesmaki (Karl Hill) horns. We had sooo much fun playing together in those days! (er, at least I did...)
