A grade of C- or better in BMS 126. Prerequisites are strictly enforced by the Math Department. A prerequisite can only be waived by approval of the instructor and the department chair.

A scientific calculator is required.
Introduction, Describing data, Probability, Distributions, Normal
Distribution, Estimating means, Hypothesis testing, Regression, Two-sample
inference.
This comprises sections 1.1-1.4, 2.1-2.6, 3.1-3.4, 4.1-4.4, 5.1-5.6, 6.1-6.5,
7.1-7.5, 9.1-9.5, 8.2 and 8.4 of the text.
Midterm and final exams, in class and closed book will count equally in determining a preliminary grade. Homework will be assigned each class day, discussed the next class day, collected the next class day and will increase or decrease the preliminary grade by at most one grade. For example, B+ and satisfactory homework = A-. Make-up exams will not be given. The final exam will be from 11:45-2:00 on Thursday, November 20.
Classroom lectures and discussion.
