A few caveats
Important to recognize that many ancient cultures had gross violations of basic human rights (e.g., discrimination, slavery, child abuse, abuse of women and limitations in their roles)
Still, they were more connected to the land, had stronger sustaining beliefs and values, and grew more enduring family and community roots
