My Biography
Lori S. Cook is an Associate Professor of Operations Management
in the Department of Management at
Dr. Cook’s research interests focus on the
analysis and design of supply chain processes and the strategic impact of
quality management systems. She is
currently participating in various ongoing supply chain and quality management
research projects investigating 1) the effect of organizational
attributes on supply chain practice and priorities, and 2) linkages
between service quality and performance excellence and 3) the operational
implication of organizational values.
She has served as a Lincoln Foundation for
Performance Excellence examiner for over six years. She has presented many papers at national and
international conferences and has published in the Journal of Operations Management, Health Services Research, Decision
Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Journal of Management Education, POMS Chronicle, Quality Management Journal and The Journal of Supply Chain Management.
In addition to her teaching
and research activities, she has provided industrial engineering, quality, and
management support through project-oriented work and training for over twenty
companies and educational organizations.
She has held engineering positions with both Armco Eastern Steel
Division and Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation. Her primary responsibility for
both employers was the application of simulation modeling and analysis
techniques for process improvement. She
has a PhD, MENG and BS in Industrial Engineering from
