A number of arts activities also capture my interest and add to my overall sense of fulfillment. Since high school, I have painted in watercolor and have recently begun to identify a number of techniques that I would like to improve. The ability to capture light, in particular, is one of the great potentials of watercolor. To date, I haven't achieved much in this regard, as a recent cruise through some high school and college-era paintings confirmed all too clearly. I have reasonably well-developed drawing skills, and I hope that someday I will be able to paint and draw more often so that I can see just how far my rudimentary talent might take me. I adore painting, but there are other artistic pursuits that I also enjoy. Bookmaking, origami, hand-painted boxes, linoleum cut prints, and wheel-thrown ceramics are a few that I have most enjoyed.
