CTI Closed Classes Procedure
Winter
Academic Year 2000
The following procedure is to be used only until the "Last Day To Add A Class" each quarter. After that day, students may not be added to a class.
If a student asks how to get in a class after it is closed:
1. Students should be told to check the NROL system or the Web Registration System every day. If someone drops, they can enroll themselves. First quarter students have been given the ability to do their own "drop and adds" .
If this doesn't’t work
2. STUDENTS SHOULD BE TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES THAT THEY WILL GET A SPOT IN A CLOSED CLASS.
3. They should report to the first class.
4. The instructor should keep a sign-up list for anyone who is attending who is not on the roster. (Rosters are available on the DePaul web site. Rosters are updated nightly and it is a faculty responsibility to get copies of their rosters.) The sign-up list should have the name, social security number, and the student’s e-mail address or phone number.
5. The list should be given to the student services team leader. If the faculty member states that there are enough desks for the people on the sign-up list, and the faculty member wants to add the students, the student services team leader will add the names to the system.
6. If there are more people on the list than there are spots in the class, the faculty member should state the order of preference in registering. If there is no directive, the team leader will start at the top of the list.
7. Students will be contacted after the registration is completed if there is an e-mail address or phone number.
Students should never sit in on a class after the first week if they are not on the roster.
