Using Notepad to Create and Edit HTML Files
- See the document Using Notepad to Edit HTML Files
- Let's try an in-class activity:
- Copy the text file activity-1.txt to your HCI201 folder on the PC in front of you. While you're at it copy Otis to your HCI201 folder also.
- Now open up activity-1.txt in Notepad and follow the instructions I give in class.
- When you are done, you should have a file called
activity-1.html
in your HCI201 folder (on your PC). - Using SSH, transfer the file
activity-1.html
from your HCI201 folder on the PC into your HCI201 folder in your students account. Also, transfer the photo of Otis (otis_xxsm.jpg) into HCI201 on students. - Finally, type the URL:
into the address box of your web browser. The page should display.http://students.depaul.edu/~youruserID/HCI201/activity-1.html
Submitting a Homework Assignment

- Just for practice (not graded), let's submit activity-1.html using COLweb.
- After you login to COLweb, type the URL
