Front Page Express

Return to the Home Page

FrontPage Express allows you to create HTML pages using a Word-like interface.  Just like Word puts hidden tags around text to know how to display it, FrontPage puts the hidden HTML tags around the text to tell the Browser how to display it.

With FrontPage Express you can create a document using the same type of text manipulation tools as Word.
Highlight text and choose the "B" button to bold it, or "I" to italicize it
Left justify it, Center it or Right justify it
Change it's color or style
etc.
(The text at the top of the page is Heading 1, centered, followed by an inserted horizontal line)

You can hyperlink pages by highlighting the text, clicking the hyperlink button (put your cursor over the different buttons to see what they do) and choosing the file you want to link to.

To insert pictures, put the image in the temporary directory and choose Insert/Picture/From File => point to the file you want to insert.

Once you are done creating the page, save it to your temporary file => Save As/File - browse to your directory.

The best way to understand FrontPage is to practice with it.  You will find it easy to learn, especially if you are already familiar with a word processing program.
