Week Six
  • TAKEHOME MIDTERM DUE DATE beginning of class Wednesday.
  • Check the schedule for lecture topics and demo dates.
  • Are your project booklets under development?
  • We will have done significant preparation for the in-class final exam by week six. Do you have an understanding of logical reasoning about an uncertain future? Have you studied your notes about the "correct" opinions (that is, just opinions -- were you there for the discussion?) relevant to our in-class discussions of group dynamics? See the powerpoint directory for lecture notes.
  • Can you draw a picture of the DESIGN of your project?
  • Can you give the PLAN for your project, with names, hours, rough dates, and dependencies?
  • A printout of your Take Home Midterm is due AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS. Skipping class to work on your midterm will not help.
  • Look over all of the Group Web Sites to make sure that yours is competitive. Is your .matrix.html file in order?
  • Groups should be very confident about the upcoming Preview Demo , due week seven, next week. Will your code be frozen by then?
  • Check out the Spots Problem and mail me your answer.
  • Read the article (printed, handed out in Class) from the New Yorker August 21 & 28 2000 (Tiger Woods on the cover), about two different, and opposing, problems with performance under stress as a lesson in why your presentations MUST be well-prepared, with back-ups, and with contingency plans.
  • Review the Individual Assessment document so that you can be prepared for this important document that will argue on your behalf.
