Using UNIX

The home work assignments will require you to use the UNIX Operating System. You should have an account on the hawk machine.  It runs Solaris 2.6 so you will need to learn enough to do your work. Checkout The UNIX Environment at DePaul University for general information. You will need to learn to use an editor and the compiler. Also learn about how to use the man command. If this information is not sufficient, the following books are available on Amazon. Or check out the student store or Borders, etc.
