Strenk continues RHC presidency

Kristen Strenk, Residence Hall Council
president since January 2000, was elected this week to fill the position
again for the 2000-01 year.
Im very excited and a little scared, Strenk said.
Im scared because I know what's coming in the year ahead. I know
RHC can do amazing things right now. We can prosper off the base we are
building this year.
Elections were held Monday through Wednesday in the hall lobbies
with approximately 15 percent of campus residents voting, Strenk said.
Positions that are still open include Munroe, Corcoran and Seton
hall presidents. Strenk said they hope to fill these positions this
spring. If not, they will hold elections for these positions in the fall
when residence halls have to elect hall presidents and hall activities
coordinators.
The new officers are Vice President Sarah Lynch, Secretary
Jacqueline Peymani, Treasurer Laurie Hiedemann, Activities Director Dina
Bertacchi, Public Relations Officer Ashley Howard, Clifton President
Rahilla Zafar, Racine President Joshua Stein, Sanctuary President
Richard Streetman, University Hall President Michelle Malawski McCabe
President Danielle Pintarelli and Independent Living President Bob
Konow.
The new board members will take over on May 20 in a banquet to
conclude the year.
I think we will work well together, Strenk said. We have
a great team on executive board, most of who were on the senate this
past year who know how to, and will continue to do great things.
Strenk took over the position of president in January after Sara
Lynch had to leave office for personal reasons. Now Lynch will work with
Strenk as vice president.
She is definitely ready to go again for next year, Strenk
said.
Some activities the new RHC board will be working on include Blue
Demon Days for the fall.
We plan that Blue Demon Days will be a huge program next year
with traditional activities such as rollerblading around Lincoln Park,
trips to Great America and Disney Quest, Strenk said. I definitely
want to get as many people possible involved in the initial elections
and programs.
