The CET is open weekdays, in COE, Room 250, to help with your technological needs.
CET hosts “Panel Discussion - Digital Citzenship: Do Better"
The Center for Educational Technology (CET) hosted a 1.5-hr panel discussion, "Digital Citzenship: Do Better," on October 24th, where a panel of digital citizenship experts explored issues surrounding digital citizenship, including online etiquette, your digital footprint, cyberbullying, and how parents, educators, and students can do better. According to i-Safe Foundation, over half of adolescents and teens have been bullied online, and about the same number have engaged in cyberbullying. More than half of Americans – 53 percent – say they were subjected to hateful speech and harassment in 2018, according to statistics from the Anti-Defamation League. And, some 46% of adult social media users say they feel “worn out” by the number of political posts and discussions they see on social media, according to Pew Research.
James Valles, Computer Science graduate student at DePaul University and Graduate Assistant for the College of Education's Center for Educational Technology, moderates panel event.

Developer Student Club powered by Google Developers
The CET is proud to announce a working collaboration with Developer Student Club, a new DePaul student group, supported by Google Developers. The CET's Graduate Assistant James Valles is the founder, who was selected by Google to start the club on DePaul's campus. The CET's Director John Gieger and College of Education Academic Advising Assistant Sandra Tanksley serve as faculty advisors. Students who join the brand new club work together to build software solutions for local problems in a peer-to-peer learning environment. All students are welcome, including those with diverse backgrounds and different majors. DePaul's club is one of a handful of local DSC clubs in Illinois and part of a larger group with hundreds of clubs scattered at universities across the globe. The university-based community helps students bridge the gap between theory and practice while learning Google developer technologies. You can learn more about DSC DePaul by visiting the group's website: DSC DePaul
