Lab 0 - It 130

Each student must sit at their own computer and do the lab. You can get as much help as you want from me or your classmates.

1. Create a directory (folder) called it130 on the C: drive.
2. Create a subdirectory of it130 called lab0
3. Make sure you can login to the COL website. COL is not Blackboard. To get to the COL website type this URL (Uniform Resource Locator) into your browser.

Login with you campus connection id and password.

4. When you login to COL read the announcement and follow the link to the course homepage. You should write down the link to the course homepage so you can get directly to it without having to go through COL.
5. You will use the COL system to submit your homework and project. Some homeworks will require you to upload files to the COL system. Practice uploading a file to the COL system. The file you will upload will be answers to these questions. Use a text editor(Notepad, wordpad) or Microsoft Word to answer these questions. Make sure you save the file to your lab0 folder (directory).

3. List your computer experience, ie used word, explorer etc..
4. What academic subjects interest you the most ?
5. List some of your interests / hobbies
6. List any web related interests you might have
7. Why are you taking this course
8. What are you looking to get out of this course
6. Save the file to the lab0 directory.
7. Upload the file to the COL system.
• Login to COL.https://col.cdm.depaul.edu/
• Select your it130 course.
• On the panel to your right, select submit assignments.
• Click the submit button next to the Survey link.
• Browse and attach your file.
