Elizabeth Coughlin to Receive 2008-2009 McHugh Quality Staff Service Award
Congratulations to Elizabeth Coughlin, Assistant Director for Student Services, for being named a recipient of the 2008-2009 Kenneth A. McHugh Quality Staff Service Award.
As is stated on the website of the Office of Mission & Values, this award is "presented to those individuals who have enhanced university initiatives by promoting collaboration and teamwork to support the institution's mission."
This is a terrific accomplishment, and we are grateful to Liz for all of the tireless and altruistic work that has resulted in her receiving this award.
New Director of the Center for Writing-based Learning
We are proud to welcome Dr. Lauri Dietz as the new Director of the University Center for Writing-based Learning. Dr. Dietz took over the position on July 1st, 2008. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in English Renaissance Literature, and she began her work with writing centers as a peer tutor at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before arriving at DePaul, Dr. Dietz directed the writing center at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.
