Eric, originally from Los Angeles, CA, is a second-year graduate student in the Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse program specializing in teaching writing and language. He graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from the University of La Verne, located 30 miles east of Los Angeles. His academic interests are computers and writing, the teaching of college composition, and the discursive construction of race, gender, and other floating signifiers. Eric has previously worked as a newspaper copy editor and page designer, K-12 substitute teacher, and caterer. He also has two years of experience tutoring and working with EFL/ESL college students of all ages during his undergraduate career. When he's not reading for class or working, Eric enjoys sleeping, cooking, traveling, writing imaginary academic paper titles, and spending time with his friends. He claims to specialize in the writing of annotated bibliographies and thinks that platitudes are platypuses with attitude. He is also conversationally fluent in Spanish.
